At last, The Shoewhorse takes a pair of shoe to the extreme. That’s right, horse on horse action…

Yeah, kinda gross. Everyone knows horse peckers are bigger than baseball bats and spit whole pints of goodness at a time, but this ain’t like that. I took a pair of Vans’ Chukka Boots on an horseback ride and am thrilled to report that they are the darndest shoes for the job. Canvas upper breathes easy and the vulcanized sole bends comfortably when you dig in to heel-kick the poor steed into moving double-time. Horses are crazy as shit. When they run fast it feels like you’re a twig floating down a raging river. Totally at the mercy of nature and one of her tantrum-prone, hoofed minions.

Not much more to it. They fit in the stirrups and looked a lot less silly that cowboy boots. Turns out they are also pretty sweet beach combing shoes. The mid-top magic kept the sand out for hours until I was over taken by a large wave. No shoe could’ve fought off those granules.
